Explore all of the must see sights of ancient Egypt: the Great Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, the most famous royal burial place in the world, and the many beautiful temples of Upper Egypt and Thebes, the capital of the ancient Egyptian empire. Included is a visit to the remote Abu Simbel, the great rock temple of King Ramses II, dramatically rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, created by the High Dam.

This itinerary takes you to all the must-see sights of ancient Egypt: The Great Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, and the most beautiful temples of Upper Egypt and Thebes, the capital of the ancient Egyptian empire. Included is a visit to the remote Abu Simbel, the great rock temple of King Ramses II, dramatically rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser created by the construction of the High Dam in 1970.

Day 1

Arrive in Cairo & Check into Hotel

Arrive in Cairo and be greeted by our representatives at the airport, who will assist you
through Immigration and Customs. Take a peek at the heart of modern Cairo from our
luxury bus as it takes you to your hotel, Hyatt Regency Cairo West.

Day 2

Memphis Sakkara Step Pyramid, Optional Tour

Dating back to 3100 B.C and founded by the first Egyptian King Djoser as the capital of the early dynastic period, Memphis and its necropolis has been listed as a UNESCO site since 1979. The Step Pyramid of Sakkara is one of a kind, and a lesser traveled site.

Day 3

Giza, The Great Pyramids and The New Grand Museum

Today you will fulfill your lifelong dream to explore the Great Pyramids at Giza, the only of the seven ancient wonders of the world still in existence. Stand with the massive Sphinx, whose lion body represents the power and strength of the pharaohs. Tour the new Grand Museum.

Day 4

Egyptian Museum, Civilization Museum, Mohamed Ali Citadel

Today, you will enjoy the vast collection of the ancient pharaonic artifacts, including the famous Mummies Gallery and the priceless pieces from the tomb of King Tutankhamen, many of which will never be displayed outside of the country. At the Mohamed Ali Citadel, you will experience the beginning of modern history of Egypt, and appreciate the beautiful Islamic architect and art.

Day 5

Flight to Luxor and Embark on the luxury Dahabiya Nile Cruise.

After breakfast, you will check out and fly to Luxor and board your Dahabiya. Lunch on board before setting out for afternoon tours of Karnak and Luxor temples on the East Bank of the Nile.

During the New Kingdom, the most powerful period of Egyptian history, Luxor was the capital of the Egyptian empire, with Luxor Temple as the power base of the living divine king. Karnak Temple was mythological base for the cult of Amun-Re, the Supreme god of all their deities.

Return to the Dahabiya and Dinner on board 7:30 PM, stay overnight In Luxor.

Day 6

Hot Air Balloon (optional), Valley of the Kings, Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Early morning pick up, Hot Air Balloon for Sunrise over the Valley of the Kings. Bring your
cameras!!!

Valley of the Kings including the famous tomb of the child King Tutenkamen and 2 other tombs. Admire the Colossi of Memnon, and tour the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, the only female Pharoah of Egypt.
Return To the Cruise by 2:00 pm lunch and set sailing. Enjoy the sunset and coastal life to English Tea, cake and coffee.

Day 8

Nile Cruise, Optional Tour of Abu Simbel Temple
Join us for an optional tour to the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel site of the Great Rock Temples of King Ramses II, the longest ruling pharaoh. This temple is the only one in Egypt actually carved out of the rock. Its façade is one of the best known images of Egypt, along with the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza.
In the afternoon, sail the Nile River onboard the Egyptian Felucca, enjoying views of the Botanical Island and the Mausoleum of Aga Khan.

Day 7

Edfu Temple Tour

Wakeup to breakfast (8:00-9:00) while your Dahabiya completes its traverse to the city of Edfu. There you will visit the legendary Temple of Horus, Egypts most well-preserved temple. Lunch on board, and set sail. Enjoy the afternoon cruising on the river, watching the local fisherman and the farmers on the banks of the life-giving Nile waters.

Day 8

Kom Ombo, Tour Temple of God Sobek, the crocodile god

Breakfast 8-9:00. Be sure to experience the striking view of Kom Ombo Temple as the Dahabiya approaches this ancient temple overlooking the river. After touring, return for lunch and set sail to Aswan.

Celebrate the evening in the style of the Egyptians, with a buffet Egyptian cuisine followed by a traditional Galabia party. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 9

The Great Temples of Abu Simbel

Early morning wakeup with Coffee and Tea will be served early. Breakfast box to take to the bus. This temple is the only one in Egypt actually carved out of the rock. Its façade is one of the best-known images of Egypt, along with the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. In the afternoon, sail the Nile River onboard the Egyptian Felucca, enjoying views of the Botanical Island and the Mausoleum of Aga Khan.  Lunch upon return to Dahabiya.

Day 10

Aswan, Philae Temple, Unfinished Obelisk, and the High Dam

Breakfast 7-8 And Check Out form The Dahabiya. Visit the famous High Dam, followed by a visit to the ancient granite quarry to see the unique Unfinished Obelisk. Then take a motorboat ride to find the “pearl of Egypt”, the
Philae Temple strikingly set upon Agilka Island.
